Overview

Leica LUX delivers the iconic Leica experience directly to smartphones. As Lead UI/UX Designer, I helped photographers to capture images with the renowned Leica aesthetic, offering a range of features that emulate the brand's distinguished camera and lens characteristics. I designed the interaction with hardware controls provided by the Fjorden Grip and the Leica LUX Grip. The app was downloaded by 600,000+ users within the first 3 months, reaching an App Store rating of 4.8 stars. Leica LUX was featured by the App Store as “App of the Day” in January 2025.

I designed the interaction with hardware controls provided by the Fjorden Grip and the Leica LUX Grip. Hardware controls for enhanced camera feel

Enable DSLR-like manual controls directly on mobile. I designed and animated the interaction and compatibility features of the Leica LUX App with physical Grips: The Fjorden Grip and Leica LUX Grip.

The full journey of connecting a Grip takes <15 seconds.

From 0 to 100

To adjust the intensity of a specific Leica Look applied, a Strength Slider was introduced. This experience affected multiple parts of the photographer journey, from capturing live to the post-capture adjustments, which allowed full flexibility to reach the desired look.

Design Ecosystem Organisation

Initially, as the only designer for Leica LUX, I centralised/maintained all product-related knowledge in a public storage across multiple platforms that mapped new changes and slimmed down the onboarding process of new hires.
